Applications are now open for ‘Orange & Green’ Round 2

Sustainable Design and the Built Environment Placements In AndalucĂ­a, Spain

The Programme
We are pleased to announce the second round of Orange and Green which is a transnational programme for individuals wishing to develop their knowledge and understanding of sustainable design and the built environment from a wider European viewpoint.
Participants will undertake a 13 - week placement in a professional organisation in the Andalucian Region of Spain. There are 18 places available from January to March 2012. Applications are now open! Flights, accommodation and an allowance for food and travel will be provided.
The specific aims of the programme are:
• To provide participants with an understanding of the impact the changing environment is having in southern Europe
• To exchange information and ideas between built environment colleagues and policy makers from different cultures
• To explore how the ‘arts’ within different cultures can inform and effect the development of public spaces and the wider public realm.
Participants will achieve the following outputs:
• Development of their practical and technical skills in relation to energy efficiency
• Development of their professional, personal, intercultural and linguistic skills
• Increase their confidence and self esteem
• Assist their entry into the labour market, if not currently employed
Who can Apply?
We welcome applications from those working in the built environment, be they in the fields of architecture, urban design, planning, surveying, transport, civil engineering, arts or others working in associated fields.
How to Apply?
Candidates are asked to submit an application detailing areas of specific interest and what they hope to gain from the placement.
